Science Week 2026

We had a visit from some owls to help us learn more about the animal group of birds. We learnt about their physical features including their ears and talons. We listened to facts about their diet, and their habitats too. It was such fun to see them fly across the hall!

This year we were learning about questions, and we did an experiment where we had to put 4 pegs on a felt pen so that 4 children could hold each peg, at the same time, to make the pen move! There was something extra tricky though because we were not allowed to speak! Afterwards, we asked questions just like scientists such as what would happen if we had a smaller piece of paper? What would happen if we had less people or more people holding the felt pen?

We had another go at drawing in a group of 4 but we could talk together about what we were drawing, and we noticed that it was much easier to draw a good picture when we could talk!
