Curriculum Drivers
As a school we have four curriculum drivers which shape the depth of our curriculum. These are the underlying themes we intend to promote in order to build our children’s cultural capital and are represented in animal form on our school badge.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
This is represented by the Owl.
- Community
This is represented by the Elephant
- Aspirations
This is represented by the Butterfly
- Emotional Intelligence
This is represented by the Gorilla
The animals were chosen based on their characteristics matching these themes.
They are derived from an exploration of the backgrounds of our children , our beliefs about high quality education and our values. They are used to ensure we give our students appropriate and ambitious curriculum opportunities. These curriculum drivers support us to develop our children’s cultural capital - the vital background knowledge required to be informed and thoughtful members of our community who understand and believe in British values.
