Geography in Nursery

In Nursery, the children begin their 'understanding the world' journey with a 'wait, watch & wonder' approach. This is where we focus on the starting point of the child, based on child-led learning but enhanced using questioning by the adults in the EYFS setting. This then enables further investigation and exploration into themes such as: my environment, my home, local places, beginning to look at simple maps, knowing that a village/town is made up of more than one house.
