Year 3 2022 - 2023
Welcome to Year 3!
This year in Year 3 there are two classes Mrs Hardwick and Mrs Goodwin, 3HG and Mrs Jones, 3HJ. We are lucky to have Miss Murray, Miss Capewell and Miss Rees to help us with our learning.
Both classes are in the Atlantic building and access to the classrooms is through their doors. Doors will open at 8:45 and shut at 9:00. Please go to the front office if you are arriving after 9:00.
3HJ will be dismissed at 3:15 via the bottom door onto the KS1 playground and 3HG will go out through their classroom door.
The Curriculum
Term 1 Rainforests - Lola the plant hunter
Term 2 Egyptians – Marcy and the riddle of the Sphinx
Term 3 Italy – The little wooden robot and the log princess
HOMEWORK
We ask that you please read with your child at least 3 times a week. They can then add this into their reading diaries and bring them into school every Monday where the teachers will give them certificates for reading 10, 20 etc time and then they will have a visit to Mrs Jones to receive a book when they have read 10, 20, 50, 100, 150 200 times.
PE
3HG will be having PE on a Wednesday afternoon and 3HJ will be on a Friday afternoon. Children will need to bring their PE kits in with them on these days. PE kits consists of a grey plain T-shirt or one with the school logo on. Black shorts/legging/joggers. If children still have their house T-shirts these can still be worn. Parents will be informed if your child is not in the correct PE kit. If your child wears earrings, they will have to be removed for the session or taped up.
PE will be conducted outside as much as is possible so please send your child with appropriate kit e.g.joggers and a school jumper when it is cold.
Snack
Please provide your child with a healthy snack for break time play. No fizzy drinks, sweets, crisps or chocolate. Please ensure your child brings a full, named water bottle to school each day. These will be accessed by the children throughout the day.
