Maths enrichment

Maths enrichment

At Underwood West, we believe that a strong foundation in mathematics is crucial for our pupils' academic success and critical thinking development. Our maths enrichment opportunities are designed to ignite a passion for numbers and problem-solving through engaging and challenging activities. We offer a variety of experiences and maths games that go beyond the standard curriculum, encouraging pupils to explore and apply mathematical concepts in creative ways. With support from our dedicated teachers, pupils participate in maths clubs and competitions that stimulate their curiosity and foster a love for mathematical learning. We aim to inspire confident, innovative, and enthusiastic young mathematicians here at Underwood West.

Times Table Rock Stars This is an excellent way of pupils learning all the time tables they need at a pace that suits them. Pupils  should have their log-in details, provided by their teacher.

White Rose Maths - The home learning section of White Rose Maths will give parents/carers a great deal of information about teaching maths in school. Pair these resources up with the curriculum overviews, which are on our maths overview table tab, and you will understand exactly what your child needs to achieve in their current year group objectives.

We understand that many parents feel like maths has changed and that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up to date with modern teaching methods. White Rose maths has teamed up with TV presenter, teacher and parent Michael Underwood to bring you a mini-series called Maths with Michael. In these videos they talk about the different themes in maths
