Here are some activities for you to complete, as you keep warm indoors!

All you need is some paper and a pencil.

(There is no pressure to complete everything-please do what you can.)

Talk about what the Monsters do each day.

What do you do on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays?

Why are these different?

Then practise writing the days of the week:

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

What do you notice about the words?

Please look in your child's reading diary and log on to the Monster phonics website to complete some online reading. In their diary you will also find their login for the Numbots website. Please spend 10 minutes on this site.

Next, I would like you to imagine you are a Pirate!

Can you write a list of 5 special things you would put in your treasure chest.

Now find 10 coins (or buttons). Use them to help you find as many different ways of making 10 as you can.

Can you write them as number sentences?

For example:

2+8= 10

5+5= 10

Challenge: Can you write them using the part, part whole model?
