This book has been carefully matched to your child's current reading level. Please listen to them read the book and remember to give them lots of praise - celebrate their success! If they can't read a word, read it to them. After they have finished talk about the book together. This book will have been read 3 times with their teacher in school that week. You will recieve the ebook version of the book which is accessible on a tablet, phone and laptop. This is free to access! The details of this book  are written down each week in your child's reading log so you know which ebook to read with your child.

2. Sharing Book:

In order to encourage your child to become a life long reader, it is important that they learn to read for pleasure. The sharing books are books which they have chosen for you to enjoy together. Please remember that you shouldn't expect your child to read these alone. Read it to or with them. Discuss the pictures, enjoy the story, predict what might happen next, use different voices for the characters, and explore the facts in a non fiction book. The main thing is that you have fun!

Please click below on the Year 2 Common Exception Words for spelling and reading which Year 2 are expected to learn to both read and spell. We have also provided the Year 1 list of words too.

We really encourage the children to read regularly at home and would ask that you sign their Reading Logs when they do. We will reward the children for every 10, 20, 50 and 100 times their reading log is signed by you and they will achieve a coloured Reading Star Award!
